Rules
  • Borrowing facility {books / standards / journals},apart from regular members is extended to Participants, Institutional Members and Students of M.Tech. course
  • Late-fee @ Rs. 1.00/- per day per book and standard is applicable to all the readers.
  • Number of books / journals to be issued on loan and period for which to be issued to different category of members is restricted.
  • Double the cost of the book is recovered from the user in case the book is lost/ damaged.
  • Latest issue of the journal, issue of National Geographic magazine and Reference Books are only for reference in the library.
  • Library is open for reference {study and photocopy} to the students and visitors from the industries. The visitors are required to pay Rs. 50/- per day as Visitor – fee and the students are required to pay Rs. 20/- per day on producing a letter of introduction from the college /institution.

The Indian Journal of Transport Management (IJTM) ( ISSN 0970-4736) is published every quarterly by the Central Institute of Road Transport (CIRT), Pune, India, for the Association of State Road Transport Undertakings (ASRTU), New Delhi. Although, the Journal concentrates on public transport and specifically bus transportation. Over the years, it has provided a forum for discussion on transport policies, public and private sector participation, financing, affordability and quality of transport services. The Journal aims at providing a link between the academician and the manager, and the policy maker and the customer. In this process, it has endeavoured to bridge the gap between theory and practice in the field of transportation.

In addition, the Institute publishes a large number of reports, notable among them being the annual publication – STUs : Profile and Performance, Proceedings of seminars and workshops conducted by the Institute on various topics related to transport policy and management are regularly published and are offered for sale.


Data Bank

The Central Institute of Road Transport (CIRT) is a premier institute working in the field of Road Transport. The prime objective of the institute has always been to assist the State Transport Undertakings (STUs) in India to provide efficient, safe and comfortable public transport services to the general public throughout the country.

For more than 49 years, CIRT is compiling and publishing the "State Transport Undertaking Profile and Performance" data book every year. The published data provides comprehensive statistics on both the financial and physical performance of the STUs.

The Data Bank maintains time series and cross-sectional data on the physical and financial performance of the STUs.

Data book is available for sale at CIRT for Rs. 2,200/- plus packing and forwarding charges extra.
