MISSION

CIRT was originally established to promote the interests of public sector bus transport in the country. In this endeavour, it organises management development programmes in all areas of interest for transport professionals. The programmes are all residential and aim at formal and informal processes of learning, both within and outside the classroom. The focus is on an integrated approach to the management of transport operations by blending the larger social, economic and environmental issues with the imperatives of decision making within the enterprise in the course of providing an efficient, adequate, economical and properly coordinated transport service. The consulting and research activities and the testing laboratories support and supplement CIRT's endeavour to help its customers. In keeping with the spirit of economic liberalisation, CIRT is expanding its activities to include both public and private sectors in passenger and goods transport.
